Moto M -  All Metal device

Lenovo has finally launched the eagerly awaited Moto M in India, and the device happens to be the brand's first smartphone to be constructed entirely out of metal. Carrying a price tag of Rs 15,999, the Moto M has been priced midway between the Moto G4 Plus (review) and the Moto Z Play (review), making it an attractive offering for buyers in the market for an affordable smartphone.

Moto M, which comes with a new all metal design and a fingerprint scanner on the back, has been officially launched today. Priced at Rs 15,999, the Moto M will be made available exclusively on Flipkart, starting December 14 at 11:59 pm. Moto M comes in two variants – 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage. As part of the launch, users will get exclusive offers only valid for December 15, when the phone gets released on Flipkart.

Specifications of Moto M

  • As stated earlier, the Moto M has been encrusted in a unibody metal design giving the smartphone a premium in-hand feel. The rear-mounted fingerprint found on the smartphone is also a first for Motorola and the device comes with a double layer of nano-coating protecting it from drizzles, spills, and splashes. As for the display, the Moto M is equipped with a 5.5-inch full HD display (1080 pixels by 1920 pixels) at a PPI of 401 pixels per inch. 
  • Under the hood of the Moto M, buyers will find a Helio P15 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with 4GB of RAM working in tandem. The smartphone comes with a Mali-T860 MP2 GPU to render the handle the graphics and is equipped with 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
  • On the imaging front, Moto M has a 16-megapixel rear camera with Phase-Detection Autofocus (PDAF), and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. 
  • The Moto M connectivity suite includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G VoLTE (with support for Indian LTE bands), USB Type-C (USB 3.1), NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
  •  Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
  • The Motorola Moto M runs Android 6.0.1 and is powered by a 3050mAh nonremovable battery. It measures 151.35 x 75.35 x 7.85 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 163.00 grams.
The new Moto M - Motorola's first all-metal smartphone - has been launched in the Indian market, and will be exclusively available on Flipkart. The Moto M smartphone has been launched in two variants in India - the 32GB + 3GB model priced at Rs. 15,999, and the 64GB + 4GB version that costs Rs. 17,999.
