Seagate introduces 5TB Portable HD | world’s largest capacity mobile HD 

Seagate has introduced a 5TB version of its Backup Plus Portable line of hard-drives, the largest capacity mobile drive on the market.” Seagate said that this is possible with new BarraCuda internal drive, featuring 2.5-inch 1TB platter technology that was announced last month.

The Seagate 5TB measures 11.5x7.8x2cm (LxWxD) in dimensions - almost 2x as thick as a Backup Plus Slim drive (1.2cm) - and weighs less at 247 grams. That’s been made possible by Seagate’s new technology behind its 5TB BarraCuda internal hard-drive,

The Seagate 5TB Backup Plus Portable will be available later this month in Black, Silver, Red, and Blue colour variants at $189.99 (about Rs. 12,886). Considering the 4TB Backup Plus Portable retails for around Rs. 13,000 in India, expect the 5TB version to be priced around Rs. 16,000.
